I was recently writing a blog post on Nara Dreamland in Japan as one of the places I wish to visit before I snuff it and I got chatting to some Urban Explorers who had been there, taken pics etc. Before then, I had never heard of it! I have always being fascinated by abandoned buildings and places, things that no longer serve their purpose. Growing up on a military base in Wiltshire, there were numerous empty buildings me and my mates would explore, including old ranges and out buildings on the plains. Although I haven’t really gone back to looking around places, after chatting to those guys, it has really got me hungry to explore, and now I know there are other like minded people and even a forum to chat about it, I cant wait to get out there. When I was younger I spent many a time in Dolphin holiday park in Brixham, instead of school, we would sit in the main buildings or the old swimming pool, have a few beers, run away from security etc. This is back before camera phones, and unfortunately this has since been built on.
Anyway, look forward to chatting and sharing!!

Cheers
